"He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?"
-Micah 6:8
At Community of Grace, we believe in living a life for God and for others and that means being God's agents of mercy and justice in the world. We aren't a large congregation, but we have made our presence felt by engaging in acts of kindness in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area and around the world. Here's a snapshot of what we have done so far:
Raised $1000 for the Minnesota AIDS Project;
Donated money and food to the Hallie Q. Brown Foodshelf in St. Paul and Southern Anoka Community Assistance (SACA) Foodshelf;
Coordinated local efforts to help victims of Hurricane Katrina;
Supported Gay and Lesbian Affirming Disciples;
Raised money for Bill's Pantry, a local charity that provides meals to persons with HIV/AIDS;
Made food packets for Feed My Starving Children ;
Donated baby items that went to crisis nursuries in Ramsey and Washington Counties.
In the coming year, we hope to get involved in other projects such as Habitat for Humanity and the Heifer Project, and we are always looking for other ideas. If you want to put your faith into action, please come and join us!
